Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This policy explains what Crowd Before ("we", "us") collects when you use crowdbefore.com, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and collect only what the service needs.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your email address, an optional name, and your password, which we store only in a scrambled (hashed) form that nobody can read back.
- What you put in: the ideas you describe, files you upload to describe them, the market filters you choose and the questions you ask.
- What we make for you: the reports, crowd reactions and what-if results from your runs.
- Payments: what you bought, when, and its status. Card details are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store them.
- Security and abuse prevention: your IP address, a device cookie and basic request details, used to keep accounts safe, limit spam and allow one free idea per person.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form.
2. How we use it
- To run the service: read your idea, run it with the crowd, write your report and keep it in your account.
- To process payments and keep your credit balance accurate.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To reply when you contact us, and to send account emails such as confirming your email or resetting your password.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use your ideas for advertising.
3. Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted providers. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:
- AI providers (such as OpenAI and TypeSafe) process the text of your idea to produce the crowd reactions and your report.
- Payments are handled by Dodo Payments.
- Email is sent through Resend.
- Hosting is provided by Hostinger.
- Reviews: if you accept all cookies, the Trustpilot widget loads on our home page.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, keep your account secure and remember your cookie choice. These are needed for the site to work.
If you choose "Accept all", the Trustpilot reviews widget may also set its own cookies. If you choose "Essential only", it does not load. We do not use advertising cookies.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and reports while your account is open. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Security logs are kept for a short period. If you delete your account, we delete your ideas and reports, apart from anything we must keep by law.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, or object to how we use it. To do any of these, contact our contact form. We will reply within the time the law sets.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and limited access. No service can be perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
8. Children
Crowd Before is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site.
